Fried squids in batter

Lenten recipe for fried squid in batter.

Compound:

  • 0.5 kg squid (carcass)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 100 ml water
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda without top
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • salt and pepper to taste

Cooking:

  1. Process squids: remove the skin, films and entrails.
  2. Bring water to a boil, salt, throw squid carcasses and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Ready squid to cool and cut into rings.
  4. Prepare lean batter: mix flour with soda, gradually pour in water, stirring all the time with a whisk. Make the dough the consistency of thick sour cream. Salt to taste.
  5. Heat the frying pan, pour vegetable oil.
  6. Dip squid rings in batter and fry on both sides.
  7. Serve with lean mayonnaise or ketchup.
