Compound:

  • 300 grams of beets
  • 3 tablespoons semolina
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 onions
  • 0.5 cup fresh or frozen parsley or dill
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried basil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • lettuce leaves for garnish

Cooking:

  1. Boil the beets until tender. I cook in a slow cooker, it turns out faster.
  2. Peel onion and garlic, finely chop.
  3. Peel the boiled beets and grate on a fine grater.
  4. Fry onion and garlic in vegetable oil until golden brown.
  5. Wash and chop greens.
  6. Put all the ingredients in a bowl: beets, onions with garlic, herbs and basil, semolina. Mix everything well, salt and pepper.
  7. Form cutlets and fry them in vegetable oil.
  8. Serve with mayonnaise or sour cream (if not fasting).
  9. Arrange lettuce leaves on a plate before serving.

Never tried anything like this! And the recipe is so amazing! But, for sure, it is very tasty. I love beets very much, and in any form. And with garlic, I think it will be even better. I'll try to cook. I have a question: do you cook whole beets in a slow cooker? cut into pieces?
